Consolidation
in the consulting and application service provider markets
continues to pick up steam.
On
Wednesday, Application Technologies Inc. (AppsTech), a
Bethesda, Md.-based consultancy, said it has agreed to buy
Apprio
Inc., an ASP and systems integrator, for an undisclosed
consideration.
AppsTech
said the acquisition will drive its global expansion, via
Apprio's existing customer relationships in Asia and Latin
America, and will add applications hosting to AppsTech's
services portfolio.
Apprio,
whose hosted solutions are based on Oracle's E-Business
Suite 11i, focuses on the telecommunications, financial
services and education markets. Its customers include
Global One, The Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, and the U.S. Census Bureau.
